It’s a warmish day, so decided to meet up with the dog group who go to the river every day at 2:00 for a session. I was the first one there of the regular group, so I got to watch these guys for awhile.
It was a beautiful sight. The guy would toss a handful of mud out into the water, and the whole group would turn and head for the splashes. I didn’t get the best stuff on video, but this will give you an idea.
Then Idris showed up with Gracie, and so Scamp and I joined them. I found a small stick for Scamp, and tossed it into the water, and she went right in after it!
I enlisted Idris’ help to get some video, since tossing the stick, getting the sand off my hand, then the phone out and on and . . . Was proving too much for me.
Later managed to get a short one myself.
The routine is to follow water play with fetch up on the field. I didn’t take pictures there, but the result was (I thought) a nice tired Scamperbottom. However, when we got home, Phantom came in and instigated a play session that Scamp was very up for.
Nonetheless, there was some payoff for wearing Scamp out first–she was quite gentle with him, and I never had to intervene. And now we have this.
So the watershed moment was, this is the first time Scamp has played fetch in the water. But I trust not the last. Coulda called it a landmark, I suppose, but watershed seemed more fitting.
Watershed is a perfect word to describe it. What a great life for a dog! And all the exercise does make her calmer. 🙂

Well, you were at the water, and there was doubtless a wee bit of shedding going on, so “watershed” is apropos. Great images, as always.
