Wasn’t planning to blog anything this go-round, but discovered this across the street from last night’s campground in Roseburg, so here it is.
It’s an display garden done by OSU Extension Master Gardeners. Very well done. It’s fairly extensive, with smaller areas dedicated to different types of gardens or different gardening techniques and lots of educational signs. The following are a sample of what’s there. With a couple of plants maybe someone will ID for me. I’ll number those pictures to facilitate communication.
A small Japanese garden greets you when you enter the front gate.
There’s a children’s garden
I thought the above was very clever.
A rock garden.
A butterfly-attractive garden.
An area teaching about composting.
An area showing various raised-bed containers.
I want three like that, only deeper, in my back yard. Nice and high so I don’t have to bend over to work in it.
Thought this one was clever, and pretty.
Some just-for-pretty pictures.
And my what-are-they? pictures.

The following is a fuchsia, which I know only because it was labeled. Otherwise I would never have guessed, it looks so different from fuchsias I see in nurseries.
And I’m pretty sure this is a lupine, but feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
There’s more to the garden, so if you have occasion to spend time in Roseburg, it’s worth checking out. It’s right next to River Forks County Park, which doesn’t allow dogs š, so I can’t attest to anything else there.
I love gardens and the colorful flowers. I never used to as a young person. I’m glad that I’m wise enough now to appreciate the beauty of nature.
