2008 Presidential Candidate Matching Quiz
I took it once before, and got a high match to Ron Paul (he’s still high on the list of Republicans for me.) Scary. I’d never heard of Mike Gravel, and when I checked him out–nope, I actually wouldn’t vote for him out of this bunch. So altogether I’m not all that sure how good their matching algorithm is. But interesting, nonetheless.
I had the same experience. I had never heard of the top guy (I think it was Bill Richardson), and Gravel was also on my list (and unheard of).
Still, it was interesting.

I checked Gravel out, and in fact I would never vote for him–one of his central deals is a national initiative process, and having seen how that works in California–I think that’s a really bad idea. REALLY bad. I’m sure I’d like him on other issues–but that was a deal-breaker for me.
Chris Dodd, on the other hand, looked pretty good to me, and I’d never heard of him, either. But then–so do a bunch of them. I’m still firmly in the “undecided” camp on who’ll get my vote on Feb. 5. I may be one of thse who goes into the voting booth still wavering. In some ways, it’s a nice position to be in–to have lots of good people running. As opposed to other years when (in my perception) the Democrats didn’t really have anyone all that strong to offer.
