I’ve been in a bit of a funk since my last post. I’m coming out of it now, but blogging will have to go on a back burner for awhile–the workload for the semester is heating up, and I’m going to have to make teaching and program maintenance my priority for awhile.
So here are a few shots to tide things over. First a couple of the poodle:
As you can see, we (he and I) don’t approve of frou-frou clips. In fact, the poor guy, being stuck with me as his person and primary caretaker, usually looks rather scruffy.
In that second picture, you can see his hunting heritage. He’s very enthusiastic about bunnies and birds; fortunately for my human sensibilities, he never catches anything.
Here’s just a typical view of the scrub lands we roam, on a nice day. It doesn’t look like much during the summer, but right now, it’s beautiful
I’m sorry to hear you are feeling out of sorts. My wishes on a speedy recovery of spirit. I check your blog everyday to see what’s new. Your photos are beautiful and your topics are thought provoking. Please don’t stay away too long. I will miss you.

Thank you–I really value what you say, all the more because of your own depth of spirit.
I’m mostly out of the funk. But I just collected a major assignment from my students, and brain power will need to go into marking those now. I’m going to try not to let the blog lapse altogether, but it’s likely to be pretty mindless stuff for awhile. Photos are easy, and I love messing with them, so I should be able to post something every few days anyway.

Do what you can. That’s all you can do. Have you tried blueberries? They’re great brain food.
